Eligibility Criteria & Qualifications
1. Educational Qualification & NCC Certificate Rules
- Degree Qualification: Degree of a recognized University or equivalent with aggregate minimum 50% marks taking into account marks of all years/semesters.
- Final Year Students: Candidates studying in the final year of degree course are also eligible to apply provided they have secured min 50% aggregate marks in the first 2/3 years.
- NCC Service & Certificate: Must have served for a minimum of two/three academic years in the Senior Division/Wing of NCC AND obtained a minimum of 'B' Grade in 'C' Certificate Examination of NCC.
- For Wards of Battle Casualties: Degree of a recognized University with min 50% marks. (NCC 'C' Certificate is NOT required for Wards of Battle Casualties).
2. Age Limit (As on 01.01.2027)
- Age Bracket: 19 to 25 Years.
- Date of Birth Range: Candidates must be born not earlier than 02 Jan 2002 and not later than 01 Jan 2008 (both days inclusive).
Selection Process & Training at OTA
Candidates applying for the NCC Special Entry Scheme undergo direct shortlisting without any written exam:
- Stage 1 (Shortlisting): Applications are shortlisted based on cumulative percentage of marks in graduation degree and NCC certificate grades.
- Stage 2 (SSB Interview): Shortlisted candidates are called for 5-day SSB Interview at Selection Centres (Prayagraj, Bhopal, Bengaluru, or Jalandhar).
- Stage 3 (Medical Examination): Candidates recommended by the SSB Board undergo detailed medical fitness tests at Service Hospitals.
- Stage 4 (Training): Selected candidates undergo 49 weeks of Pre-Commission Officers Training at Officers Training Academy (OTA), Chennai.
