Medical Fitness Standards (Important)
Candidates called for Document Verification (DV) will have to pass requisite medical fitness tests. Visual Acuity Standard is one of the most important medical criteria for railway service:

Salary & Important Service Rules
- Salary Structure: Technician Grade-I Signal initial basic pay is ₹29,200/- (Pay Level-5). Technician Grade-III initial basic pay is ₹19,900/- (Pay Level-2).
- Training & Stipend: Selected candidates will have to undergo training wherever prescribed, and only a stipend will be paid during the training period.
- Security Bond: Selected candidates shall execute a Security and/or Indemnity Bond wherever necessary.
- Posting & Transfers: A newly appointed candidate will have no claim as a right for transfer to another Railway. No request for transfer to other Railway would be registered till the candidate completes at least 5 to 10 years of service.
- Free Train Travel: Free Sleeper Class Railway Pass will be provided to SC & ST candidates (if opted) with their e-call letter for various exam stages.
Selection Process & Exam Pattern
The recruitment process involves multiple stages as decided by the Railway Recruitment Board:
- Stage 1: Computer Based Test (CBT) (100 Questions, 90 Minutes). There will be a negative marking of 1/3rd mark for every wrong answer.
