Eligibility Criteria & Educational Qualification
Age Limit (As on 01.08.2025)[cite: 2]
- Minimum Age: 40 Years[cite: 2].
- Maximum Age: 55 Years[cite: 2].
- Retirement Age: 60 Years[cite: 2].
- Age Relaxation: Up to 5 years of relaxation is applicable for regular government servants of Bihar (maximum 5 attempts allowed)[cite: 2]. Ex-servicemen will get 3 years + service period relaxation (max age not exceeding 57 years)[cite: 2].
Educational Qualification[cite: 2]
- Bachelor's degree from the Science faculty from a recognized institution, OR
- Bachelor in Fire Engineering, OR
- Bachelor's Degree in Engineering (Mechanical / Automobile).
- AND must have passed the Divisional Officer Course from the National Fire College, Nagpur, OR completed the prescribed minimum 3 months of training for a senior supervisory officer from an institution recognized by the Central Government.
Required Work Experience
- A minimum of 12 years of work experience in the firefighting area.
- Out of the 12 years, a minimum of 02 years must be in a senior supervisory equivalent post (Pay Level 11 or equivalent)
- The remaining 10 years of experience will be valid at Pay Level 7, Pay Level 9, or their equivalent.
BPSC Deputy Director Selection Process 2026
The final selection will be based on a total of 100 Marks distributed as follows:
- Educational Qualification (Maximum 50 Marks):
- Matriculation: 1st Class (12 Marks), 2nd Class (08 Marks), 3rd Class (04 Marks).
- Intermediate (10+2): 1st Class (16 Marks), 2nd Class (12 Marks), 3rd Class (08 Marks).
- Graduation: 1st Class (22 Marks), 2nd Class (18 Marks), 3rd Class (14 Marks).
- Work Experience (Maximum 20 Marks): 02 marks will be awarded for each full year of experience beyond the mandatory 12 years.
- Interview (Maximum 30 Marks): Document verification will be conducted during the interview. Candidates must produce all original certificates claimed in the online application.
Note: Depending on the number of applicants, the commission reserves the right to conduct a Screening Test to shortlist candidates for the interview.
